central and peripheral perception

2007-2008

diploma work

The paintings called Central and peripheral perception... are dealing with the visual perception or the view in general and its relation to the projection of reality.

I am trying to capture the peripheral part of human view, where the unsharp objects of the peripheria are named with a coded alphabet, where each coloured square stands for a letter of a normal alphabet. I'm subconciously using this code since being a child, when i started to connect some letters of alphabet with colours.

The paintings named Coded colourity... play with terms and shapes and their equality and ability of replacement. Each letter of the alphabet has its substitutional colour according to my unexplained code (which is still the same as before, just now I'm switching the real colour of objects with the letter of my code). I realize that I sometimes can see the things around me more as terms, concepts, especially when relying more on my memory of known space, rather than real colours or shapes, which are often forgotten and have just secondary importance.
